Connected Soul

Yoga retreat with Jessica Archer Nuzzo
Saturday October 27th 4~ 6:30pm  $40
Emerging Space Greenhouse

This potent time of year is one of transition, moving towards darkness and what is known as the dream time.  Nature invites us to go inward and listen, so that we can become more receptive and open to the energies all around us.

All Souls Day, Halloween & Dia de los Muertos all honor the dead, reminding us that the veil between the worlds is thin in these moments. If we pause and feel, we can find connection with those who are no longer embodied in this world; we can be connected to all souls in all realms. Our afternoon of  gentle yoga will include movement, breath, labyrinth walk, reflective writing, deep rest and sacred connection.

Please bring Yoga Mat, blanket and Journal.
Space is limited Please Register Here

Looking forward to sharing sacred moments with you all, in the

Pure Potentiality

On this potent Blood-Blue-Super-Full-Moon, we Moon Mothers celebrated the pure potentiality of this new year.  Through ancient ritual, remembering splendid moments from the past, creating and sharing, we magnetized ourselves to universal abundance.

Below are a couple of poems created on this night of practical magic.

Holding up flowers in devotion to the tree, to the Goddess, to all Life
This is my season of dreaming, of renewal, restoration
Singing in the temple, so familiar
Tress nature cathedral – sacred is sacred
How can I keep from singing?
I long to return to the holy places where I once served
Thank you for the beauty of nature, the beauty I look for and always see.
May I travel unencumbered.
May I sing your praises everyday.

Equal World

It is an Equal World.
I open to my best as I rest
In the grass of Heart’s Green Desire
I allow the goddess
Receive the gift
The hummingbird sings
My Voice has wings
Words are like nectar as I write
True calling is heard both day and night
Accept the Mother Mary
Vessel of Pure Potential
World spins
I surrender
Nurture Self
Wise owl calls

As you navigate this new year, may you create what ever you feel called to create and celebrate the simple moments.

Soul, finds bliss in the security and comfort of home, and peace in the quiet of solitude and rest.  Spirit, seeks adventure, new experiences, creativity, and human connection. On this day we soothed our soul in the comfort and beauty of Shelldance’s greenhouse. We called upon our Spirit to show her desires.  By combing through hundreds of images and keeping the ones that sparked our spirit, we created our Spirit~Quest collage. Some of the images I placed on my collage held obvious meaning and some felt powerful, but were vague in meaning.  I trust the meanings will become clear as I follow my path of seeking, creating and enjoying beauty.

Part of deliberate manifesting is to have a witness to your dreams and desires. Collectively we held the energy, as each woman shared her Spirit~Quest.  Then we sent the energy out into the universe through our hands by way of applause.

“In out of the way places of the heart

Where your thoughts never think to wander

This beginning has been quietly forming

Waiting until you were ready to emerge.”

                                                                                                  ~John O’Donohue

May you experience the adventure your spirit seeks and manifest a beautiful new year.

Goddess Vesta on the Harvest Moon

Leah Walters

Leah Walters

It is the last full moon of summer, and Mother Moon shined so bright.

The autumnal equinox will take place this coming Sunday – a time to turn our attention toward our homes, our hearth, and our inner wisdom. To honor the full moon and change of season, we wise women gathered at the beach to pay homage to the Divine Feminine and the Goddess Vesta – Goddess of the Hearth.

The ancient goddess Vesta, known to the Greeks as Hestia, represents the heart of the home and the perpetual flame of wisdom. She was the source of great knowledge for her clan: the great Roman Empire. Vestal virgins dedicated their lives to keeping Vesta’s eternal flame burning in her temple, ensuring that the light of wisdom she possessed for the family of Rome would never go out. Great warriors went to war for the empire, but would always return to the fire and hearth of Vesta.  We too possess the great power and wisdom of Vesta in our own beings.

How can we manifest the spirit of Vesta in our own lives?
In order to allow the voice of our wisdom to surface, we must first let go of what may be holding us from speaking our truth.  Sweet Light Donna Scheifler led us in a moving manifestation exercise through a Sand Dollar ritual

vesta201302Hold the fragile sand dollar to your ear and give it a shake – hear the tiny doves waiting to be released, hear the dreams or goals whispering inside, waiting for your permission to truly manifest? We must break the sand dollar open, let go of our own self-created barriers and release the dreams and goals we secretly hold inside! It is time to allow ourselves to become who we truly are, who we are meant to be as Human Beings, as Women – the American Goddess.vesta201306
*See the bottom of this blog post for Donna’s Sand Dollar Ritual

With our barriers gone… How do we become wise women?

We live into it – we gather it  from our own life experiences and also from the fellowship of our wise sisters. Tonight we have prepared these words of wisdom to share with one another.  A fire is lit to honor the wise goddess Vesta, and talking sticks in the form of kindling are passed to each Moon Mother.  As each woman shares her words of wisdom in the glow of firelight, it soon becomes clear that we are all keepers of the undying feminine flame of Vesta. We all have a separate wisdom and story to share from our own unique lives. Wisdom ranges from the meaning of a Beatles song to Maya Angelou to the code of the pirate! Each piece of wisdom is extraordinary, beautiful and symbolic of a Moon Mother’s journey and experience.  After each woman shares her wisdom, she adds her talking stick (kindling) to the fire to keep the blaze alive. It is a true blessing to witness this event, and a reminder of the wisdom and strength a circle of women provides to one another.

In the spirit of Vesta and autumn, we must remember to maintain a wise flame to those around us.
So stack your fire wood, light your candles, and prepare your hearth as a flame of wisdom and solace – your clan will be returning soon.  By Leah Walters

Sand Dollar Ritual by Donna Scheifler

Shake your Sand Dollar and listen to the birds/doves rattling around inside.

They symbolize your Intentions / Dreams / Wishes / Hopes.

They can’t fly free until the Sand Dollar is broken open …

Until we break open

Whatever is locked up inside of us

Whatever we’ve been holding onto

Whatever has been holding us back

Our Intentions / Dreams / Wishes / Hopes

Are not allowed to fly free …

Are not able to manifest

When we can break through / release / let go of all of this

Then we can give wings to our

Intentions / Dreams / Wishes / Hopes

Trust that

Whatever needs to be released

Whatever old limiting beliefs that have held us back

Will be revealed to us

Go to the water’s edge and break open your Sand Dollars …
harvest moon 2013Thank you Leah for the nice writing.  Thank you Donna for leading us in the rich sand dollar ritual.

Pure Potentiality

jan 2013

sweet lightThis ceremony was dedicated to pure potentiality and the Infinite Goddess that resides in all women.  In alignment with all the Goddesses we wrote our personal list of, one hundred manifestations for 2013.

At sunset we cast our keen circle.  Stephanie blew the conch and High Priestess Judith read the seven direction invocation. We welcomed four new women into our circle with the traditional blessing chant and moved our loving energy around them.  I was astonished by their inner circle movements, within our outer circle.  They created a tepee of hands and swayed to a beat of their own.

Then we retreated to the warmth and comfort of the studio to begin the work of realizing our manifestations for the year. To bring us fully into our bodies, Linda Grace led us in a full moon Pranayama practice.  In a comfortable seated position she guided us in a chakra clearing modality.

Third eye wide open, relaxed, centered and fully in body we began our meditation adventure into one of  the most magnificent years of our life, 2013.  Open to grace and in the flow, our meditation led us to see, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall… Self, family and relationships… Work, celebrations and vacations… Money, gardens and our connections to animals… Home, community and creativity… Joy, respect, and accolades… Strength of body, mind and spirit.

Once we returned our attention to the room it was time to write our list. One hundred manifestations for 2013.  Pen to paper, the intentions flowed from thought to word, making them one step closer to reality.  In circle speak, each woman spoke only of the top three manifestations she will create in this bright new year.

If one advances confidently in the direction of one’s dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet success unexpected in common hours.

Henry David Thoreau

With our intentions well mapped out, we are on our right path and ready to take the next step in the direction of manifesting our dreams.

It will be pure joy watching so many dreams come true this year.

Isla Women's Retreat

Isla Women’s Retreat

We invite women to gather for retreat and replenishment on Isla Mujeres, an island in the tranquil turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean.  This island is sacred to Ixchel, the Mayan Moon Goddess and historically a place for healing rituals among the Mayan people.  We will create a circle of abundance, compassion and support as we weave together our stories and wisdom.  By honoring Ixchel’s tradition, we become midwives of our dreams and visions. Storytelling, yoga, journaling, poetry, guided imagery, and more…will serve as forms to access the blessings and beauty that flow in each of us. Participants will stay at Na Balam, an intimate, boutique hotel on the beach where landscaped trails, tropical gardens and the beauty of the ocean will provide a perfect abode for the retreat.
