last full moon of 2016

On this last full moon of 2016, our nomadic tribe gathered at Mary’s secret club house to honor the women who chose to be born in December. Our ceremony was dedicated to Saraswati; Hindu Goddess of art and intellect.

Wet misty air, moistened our skin and hair, as we burned Palo Santo sticks to clear our auras and invoke our inner Saraswati.  We encircled Kellie, Elaine and Ginni (the birthday babies) with a loving chant and pithy spoken blessings.  They reciprocated with gifts from mother earth and acappella song.

As the wet air turned into sprinkling rain, we retreated to the cozy club house.  Our focus was to embody the spirit of Saraswati, deepen our concentration and create.  In quiet meditation, we called upon our muse, opened to our creative genius and stepped into the flow of creation. Then, without words, our creative expressions began. Some picked up pen and paper to write poetry and song, but most, silently gathered around the art table to paint on tiny wooden canvases.  The only sound was soft background music, every woman was in her own creative world.

sarasiwatti01When we regrouped for circle speak it was amazing to see a common thread in the individual creations. Images of trees and glittering skies, words of growth and reflection, circles, spirals and moons, seemed to show up again and again. Was it coincidence, divine inspiration or Saraswati at work?  Maybe all three, or maybe its just that, we are a circle of like minded women.

To close our ceremony, we stood, arms around each other in a close circle, and sang In a circle of women, by Jan Phillps.

Please honor this natural dream time of the year, with spacious rest and slowness.  May you find great inspiration in your dreams.

2015 in review

When mother moon was completely unveiled and her strong subtle energy could be felt; she silently called us to gather in divine feminine circle. By way of modern ancient ritual, we intensified our Goddess particles to fully embody our divine feminine wholeness. In the stillness of winter, we dove deep, giving credence to our pure potential.  We enlivened our sensuality by dedicating  ceremony to Aphrodite, then we danced into spring embodying the spirit of Ostara. There were lots of belly laughs when we praised Maat. Kundalini serpent was awakened when we honored Ixchel. When we called upon the spirit of Sarawatti we created poems, stories and pictures. Connecting to mother earth and our fierceness we gathered in the Enchanted Forest to honor Artemis. In bold celebration of Freyja we released prayer lanterns at the beach, then returned to share hearth wisdom in order to honor Vesta. Our year culminated in the rites of passage Crone ceremony. Enjoy the slide show.  We will gather again in a few weeks.  Details coming soon. Sincerely, Tamara Trejo
