Initiation

While the farmers were harvesting their final crops of the year, we Moon Mothers gathered at the beach for our final outside ceremony of the year.

At sunset we called in the ancestors, cast our circle in the sand, and dedicated our ceremony to the supreme Goddess, Mother Earth. We acknowledged her many ancient names, Gia, Terra, and Mawu .  Mother Ocean is her core: we are tiny custodians of her limbs.

Sun set, the twilight sky turned lavender and we began our initiation ritual. Like our female ancestors we chanted, drummed and danced our way to waters edge. There, the proficient conch blowers taught others how to sound the Goddess trumpet. Mother Ocean kissed our ankles with her healing salt water as we proceeded to chant, drum, and sound the Goddess trumpet invocation. harvest02harestmoonharvest03harvest04harvestmoon01 In response, Mother Earth beckoned us to swim in her core.  A few brave Moon Mothers heeded her call. Fearlessly, they dove through the waves for an invigorating swim.  As witnesses to their boldness we held the energy by continuing to chant, drum, sound the Goddess trumpet, photograph, and cheer their spirited actions.harvest05harvest06harvest07harvest08

As darkness fell, we gathered by fire, voiced our love~connection to Mother Earth and spoke of how we connect and protect the Supreme Goddess.

Until we meet again, stay grounded.

  1. Wow! Looks like a lovely evening, Tammy. I hope your Autumn gatherings were simply wonderful. I had a virus and family obligations that kept me from joining this month’s gatherings. I truly was there with you all in spirit. Much Love and Appreciation to you, Susan Ryals
